This incredibly beautiful home is ideal for shoots and bringing creative teams together. The house was built in the 1670’s, it has incredible natural light and it has retained many original features including huge fireplaces and a wonderful Oak and Elm staircase. The ground floor ceilings are over 2.7 metres high with beautiful windows throughout. The owner founded and owned Maker&Son until July 2022 and shot all of the content and visual advertising material there.

There are two main living rooms, both with wonderful fireplaces. 

The kitchen is large and extremely light – comfortably sitting 8-10 people The Aga is wonderfully warm in winter.

There are 5 bedrooms with double beds, most of the rooms are very generous in size and one of them has an en-suite.

There is a separate studio space which can double up as a wonderful party room. The space is very generous at 15m x 9m which can be set up as storage or as a shoot location in its own right. We used to use it as a studio ourselves. There is also an incredibly atmospheric wooden roundhouse made from cedar shingles measuring approximately 4.5 metres in diameter. 

Kemps House is only 15 mins away from Gatwick, 30 mins to Brighton and 40 mins direct train to London, either London Bridge or London Victoria.

Kemps is very much a family home and is filled with our personal possessions, many of them very precious. As with all old houses, it has a lot of character which most people will love. Please don’t expect perfectly straight floors and walls and no cracks or marks on anything, because we have all of these, they are all very much part of the charm of the house.
