Stable House, nestled in the picturesque village of Tilford between Elstead and Farnham in Surrey, provides an enchanting backdrop that blends historical charm with modern luxury—perfect for a diverse range of photoshoots. This converted stable block has been exquisitely renovated, reflecting a collaboration between Thomson Carpenter and the interiors editor of Country & Town House magazine. Inside, one can find an array of premium brands from Drummonds to George Smith furniture.
Every corner of the house offers a unique frame: from the entrance’s herringbone terracotta floors to the sunlit kitchen with its crittal doors, and the antique brass details sprinkled throughout. The spacious kitchen, boasting Edward Bulmer Jonquil-painted cabinetry and marble worktops, is bathed in daylight thanks to two generous light wells, ensuring natural illumination for any shoot. Transition to the large sitting room, and you’re greeted by a double-sided wood burner, creating a cozy ambiance. The upstairs space is equally compelling with three uniquely designed bedrooms and luxurious bathrooms. The master bathroom, in particular, offers panoramic views of the Surrey hills, with a freestanding bath serving as its centerpiece. Diverse floor textures, from limestone to oak floorboards and sisal carpets, add depth and character to the shoots.
But the allure of Stable House isn’t confined to its interiors. The garden, masterminded by Richard Miers, the recipient of the People’s Choice award at the 2022 Chelsea Flower Show, unfurls as a visual symphony. A landscaped pond with its stepping-stone bridge becomes an immediate focal point, surrounded by evolving flora. Historical oak gates, an old kitchen garden wall, and lush yew hedges provide a sense of seclusion, creating multiple private shoot vistas adaptable to varied moods and themes.
Logistically, Stable House is designed for convenience. With ample parking for at least five vehicles and its strategic proximity to major transport hubs like Milford, Godalming, and Farnham stations, as well as the M25 junction, access is smooth. Both Heathrow and Gatwick airports are roughly 50 minutes away, making it feasible for international crews. Moreover, being a stone’s throw from the renowned filming location of Bourne Woods only adds to its appeal. For those longer, more demanding shoots, Stable House also offers catering options and overnight accommodation, ensuring a seamless experience.
