The Standard Hotel is the first Standard to open in London, with kitsch seventies decor, moodily-lit private booths, and a spectacular lobby. The interiors come courtesy of Shawn Hausman Design, responsible for the legendary Chateau Marmont, who wanted to give the building a distinct retro vibe.
The building itself was built in 1974 in a striking Brutalist design, and stood as an office block and public library, forming part of Camden Town Hotel. Now gloriously restored, the building has been heightened by a glass extension which hosts a restaurant and club accessed via an bright red external elevator.
Inside, the interiors include a combination of 70s glam. With grooved walnut panelling frames suede, sumptuous leather and shagpile-textured walls, with rich colour, curved edges and midcentury lamps setting the mood. Alongside modern and neutral spaces, providing stunning backdrops for your next shoot throughout.
