Wycombe Air Park is based in the Buckinghamshire countryside near Marlow and High Wycombe, and falls within Buckinghamshire Council. With a history dating back to the 1940s, this working general aviation airfield offers an authentic and highly distinctive backdrop for your shoot.
The airfield provides productions with access to a wide variety of environments across one site, including aircraft hangars, aprons, the runway, control tower surroundings, access roads and extensive open ground. Filming can be accommodated inside the hangars, externally on the cul-de-sac and apron, and on the runway itself subject to prior arrangements. Aircraft can also be made available for shoots, including a luxury Piper PA-46 propeller aircraft alongside more traditional general aviation aircraft such as the Piper PA-28, creating opportunities for both interior and exterior aviation sequences.
The combination of large open spaces, aircraft, operational infrastructure and surrounding Buckinghamshire countryside provides a desirable backdrop. On-site buildings can also be used as production offices, while the extensive parking and access roads make the airfield well suited to larger crews and equipment. London is approximately 50 minutes away, with convenient road access via the M40.
Parking is available on site. The nearest public transport links are High Wycombe and Marlow railway stations, both approximately 15 minutes away by car.
The location has standard power supplies with three-phase power also available. Side and disabled access are both available. As Wycombe Air Park is a working airfield, aircraft activity creates significant operational noise and the location is therefore not suitable for sound filming.
